Norwood Media Center was one of 3,000 libraries selected to receive We The People Bookshelf on "Created Equal" from the National Endowment for the Humanties. We received a set of classic books related to the “Created Equal” theme. The National Endowment for the Humanities is proud to offer this program in cooperation with the American Library Association. The Comsewogue students, parents and faculty now have access to an amazing Research Tool, the Virtual Reference Collection. You can now find information at home using reference materials such as encyclopedias, magazines, newspapers and magazines 24 hours a day.  This will be a great help when doing projects for school, as well as homework assignments.

Mission Statement:
The Norwood Elementary School Library Media Center serves students and staff in grades K-5.
The Media Center supports and enriches the curriculum of Norwood Elementary School.
We are focused on creating life-long learners who are effective users of information and ideas. 
We provide the students and staff with a wide variety of print and online resources. 
The media center also fosters and enriches an appreciation of reading.

Media Center Hours:
The media center is opened from 8:55 A.M. - 3:15 P. M.
All students are scheduled to visit the media center with their classes on a weekly basis. 
Second graders visit the media center two times a week.
Students can visit the media center with media specialist and teacher permission
at any time to exchange materials.

Circulation:
All books are due one week from the day they are checked out.
Fines are not charged, but no other books may be borrowed until all library materials have been returned.
Replacement fees are charged for lost or damaged materials.
